Q: What time is check-in and check-out?

Check In: 14:00:00 (2pm)
Check Out: 10:00:00 (10am)

Early check-in may be available on the day of arrival. Please contact the property 24 hours prior to enquire.

Late check-out may be available on request. A small charge is applicable for departures after 12:00pm.

Q: Do you require a security bond upon check-in?

A valid credit card will be required  for secuirty upon check-in.

Q: Is after hours check-in available?

If arriving outside of office hours (see below) please contact the office at least 24 hours prior to arriving as you will need the access code to the key safe. A small safe is on the wall beside Reception and the code will provide you access to an envelope which will contain your keys and instructions on how to get to your apartment.

Q: Can I have a late check-out?

Late check-outs are subject to availability. Check with our friendly reception team they day before your departure. 

Q: When do I have to pay a deposit?

A one night secuity deposit is required for all direct bookings.

Q: What is the difference between Beachfront and Ocean View?

The beachfront apartments are located directly opposite the patrolled section of Trinity Beach - all that is separating the apartments and the sand is a service road.

The ocean view apartments are at the rear of the beachfront apartment buildings and are elevated to capture panoramic views of the ocean (from Yorkeys Knob to Palm cove).  

Q: What is a Kitchenette - this is mentioned for your 1 Bedroom Apartments?

A kitchenette simply doesn't have an oven.

There is a 2 burner cook top, a microwave, pots and pans - everything needed to cook a meal for two. The fridge is minimum 140 litres and also has a small freezer.

Should you want to cook a Roast Dinner or be a little adventurous, we have an electric frying pan available at Reception. During office hours, simply dial 9 on your phone to request this.

Dishwashing liquid is supplied during your stay with us.

Q: I have read an average Review online about On The Beach. What is your comment?

We applaud (and actually encourage) guests who write reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor, Expedia, Booking.com and more recently Wotif. These sites give our guests the opportunity to let others know about us prior to them making a booking.

Mostly these reviews are a honest interpretation of a Guest's stay. Unfortunately some people also see this as an opportunity to vent their frustration about something which wasn't exactly right during a stay - this could include a misinterpretation of accommodation type, a disagreement which was had with a staff member, something which happened on a tour or at a local restaurant.

We are not perfect and we don't claim to be. What we do claim is that we will offer you a fantastic holiday in 4 Star accommodation at competitive rates. We will try to make your holiday your best ever. If something isn't right, we ask that you report this to us at the commencement of your stay, and we will make every effort to make it right.

Read the Reviews knowing that we don't always get the opportunity to make a comment, and keep in mind that usually, there are 2 sides to every story. Read them for what they are and look at the big picture. We are proud of our Reviews, especially on TripAdvisor, and we make no attempt to hide them - the good and on a rare occasion, the not so good.

Services & Facilities FAQ's

General information about our accommodation services and on-site facilities.

Q: Is there Internet or WiFi access available?

When you arrive, simply ask us about the FREE Wi-fi which is available to all Apartment types. You will be provided with a Password and instructions on how to access the Connection. Instructions are also available in the Apartment Compendiums (Information folder).

Q: Is there car parking available?

Each building at On The Beach Holiday Apartments has FREE secure or off street parking. 

Q: Is all linen provided?

All of our apartments are fully self-contained. This means that everything you need is provided, including linen and cooking utensils and equipment.

Initial supplies of sundry items, such as toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, washing up detergent and dishwasher powder are also included. Should these supplies need replenishing during your stay, then these can be purchased for a small price from Reception or from the local supermarket.

Q: How often are the rooms serviced?

For 7+ night stays, apartments will be serviced weekly. 

Q: Do you have Cable / Satellite TV?

We offer FREE Cable TV in all of our Beachfront Apartments (only). This includes all 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Beachfront.

All 2 Bedroom Ocean and Garden view apartments have Digital Television which includes over 15 channels. There is also a DVD Player in each apartment.

Q: Do you have a swimming pool suitable for small children?

Each apartment type is housed in it's own complex with each complex having it's own swimming pool and BBQ area. If the pool is not suitable for your child, please contact Reception to discuss your individual needs.

Q: Are there Disabled Facilities at On The Beach?

Although we don't have specific Disabled Apartments, our 2 and 3 Bedroom Beachfront complex is suitable to most by means of the following:

  • Large spacious apartments
  • There is at least one shower in the apartment which has only a small lip into the shower itself
  • There is a lift in the complex
  • Shower chairs available on request

The swimming pool is inaccessible by wheel chair, however the complex next to this one is accessable and disabled guests are welcome to use this. Please discuss individual needs with Reception prior to arrival.

Q: How many floors are there, and is there a lift to each apartment?

Each of the 7 buildings that form On The Beach Holiday Apartments are three (3) levels or floors.

There are two x 2 bedroom beachfront complexes, one of which does have a lift. This complex also houses the 3 bedroom beachfront apartments.

For the 2 Bedroom beachfront apartments, the lift access cannot be guaranteed when making a booking, however a request can be submitted and notes will be made to ensure we do our best to accommodate your needs.

Q: Are beach towels available?

Beach towels are available for hire at a small cost of $1 per day for the duration of your stay.

Should you choose not to keep your towel and launder it yourself, the charge is $2. These charges can be placed on your room account and settled prior to departure.

Q: There are many buildings in the photos. Which is On The Beach Holiday Apartments?

On The Beach is comprised of 7 individual buildings, each being an important feature of why On The Beach is so popular and why we have over 50% of our guests visit year after year.

The seven buildings offer privacy and security. They are small, secure complexes each with its own swimming pool, car parking area and landscaped BBQ area.

When we are fully booked, you can still enjoy a swim with complete privacy. Some of the buildings may only have 2 holiday apartments in them, meaning that the other occupants may be at work or living away from the area.

Each complex has walkways leading to the central Reception office and to the beach. Pathways winding through beautiful tropical gardens remind you of the typical North Queensland rainforest.

Q: Are there restaurants nearby?

if you're after an exotic culinary experience, goold old Aussie tucker, coffee and cake, BYO, licence3d or a 'home' delivered takeaway, there's sure to be an eating experience at Trinity Beach which will tanatalise your taste buds.

There's over ten excellent eateries in the area, ranging from Italian, Mediterranean style, Seafood, Curries, Thai, Turkish, Indian, Modern Australian and good old fish and chips. 

Q: Is there public transport nearby?

Cairns Sun Bus runs from Palm Cove to Cairns City. Buses leave Trinity Beach every half hour on Weekdays and hourly on weekends. 

Q: Is there local shopping nearby?

Trinity Beach has a range of local shopping amenities for all your needs during your stay. An easy walk from On The Beach Holiday Apartments you'll find the Coastwatcher Shopping Centre which includes a pharmacy, bakery, newsagency, food store, butcher, post office, video store and medical facilities. 

Alson the esplanade there are a number of local cafes and stores which sell fresh provisions, beachwear and some colourful souvenirs. A range of Australian wines, beers and liquor is available from the Trinity Beach Tavern and Coastwaterch Shopping Centre.

Q: How far is On The Beach Holiday Apartments from the city?

On The Beach is 23 km or a 20 minute drive to Cairns city. It is an easy drive straight down the Captain Cook Highway.

Q: Is 'On The Beach' also called 'Aspire On The Beach'?

Yes. In 2009 we joined the Aspire Group to ensure we retain a high quality standard at all times, and to maximise our exposure in today's ever changing market.

Our relationship with the Aspire Group has enabled us to retain our prices for the past 2 years as we now have access to a wide range of marketing at lower cost price to us. It has also granted us exposure to other properties so that we learn from each other and continue to grow and develop.

Q: How can we get from the Airport to On the Beach Holiday Apartments?

The most convenient and least expensive way to reach us is to have us arrange an airport transfer for you - the company we use are extremely reliable and really make you feel welcome. They will meet you in the luggage Arrival area and will be noticeable as they have a board with your name on it. Prices are as follows:

Discounted rates for groups of 5 or more - up to 12 at any one time.
