Cricket in far north Queensland has received a welcome boost with Cazalys to host a tour game between Pakistan and Australia A at Cairns’ premier sports venue from December 8-10.
The three-day tour match will be played under lights and is ideal preparation for Pakistan ahead of the first Test against Australia in Brisbane on December 15.
“Bringing elite cricket back to Cairns is key for both our local grassroots cricket community and our local economy,” Cairns mayor Bob Manning said.
“I encourage everyone to get their tickets to witness not only the first pink ball tour game played in Cairns but a Pakistan team that will be determined to succeed on Australian soil.
“We’re always happy to work in partnership with Cricket Australia and look forward to many more cricket games and fans visiting our city.”
