Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Posted in Location & Attractions @ Sep 8th 2013 8:34am - By Administrator

Spanning 7.5 kilometres over lush rainfore st, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway takes you through an amazing journey through Australia’s World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforest canopy and deep into the forest.

Feel the thrill of gliding above the rainforest canopy in a spacious gondola cabin that comfortably seats six people at a time. Discover the rainforest and enjoy unparalleled views of the Cairns’ tropical region and the glittering waters of the Coral Sea.

A one-way Skyrail experience takes around 90 minutes and a return trip takes around two and a half hours. Skyrail operates daily from 9am to 5:15pm.

You may begin or conclude your Skyrail experience at either the Caravonica or Kuranda. Skyrail has two rainforest mid-stations, Red Peak and Barron Falls. You may alight at the mid-stations and explore the environment from the forest floor. See the sights as you walk along boardwalks and walkways. Complimentary Ranger guided boardwalk tours operate regularly at Red Peak Station. Barron Falls Station houses a fascinating Rainforest Interpretation Centre as well as spectacular look-outs.

You may combine the Skyrail with the Kuranda Scenic Railway or any number of Cairns’ day tours. You could explore the various attractions of Kuranda including the butterfly sanctuary, Koala Park and a selection of markets, cafes and restaurants.

Take this incredible journey through the rainforest. Skyrail is just a short drive from our Trinity Beach Accommodation.
